What a hangover I'm contending with today. I'm glad things are going smoothly othewise they may be trouble ahead. Right today block laying, Electrics and filling the pool. Yep thats what happend today. I'm seeing another John tommorow who is erecting the new building he coming to take some measurements. I hope he's got some good news for me and is ready to make a start next week. I feel like s*** . I'm going to have a chinese then go to bed.

The weather is great the sun is shining and we're puting the footings in. The mixer turns up and its back breaking work for the team John. Meanwhile I continue to look busy and carry on with the finishing touches of paint of the lake.

Wasn't expecting it but Steve phoned me and said there was no way he could fit the Electric Cables for the Fountain in the lake as he had to take his kids to Scouts. So been at a lost end I started to do the job myself, laying the cables and fixing them to the base of the lake. The boys went missing at 2pm and I hadn't noticed until I got a phone call from the pub asking what I wanted to drink. Bottle of Pils of course I'll be 2 mins.

Things are looking good and are organising some staff to help me bring all the canoes and trampolines down tommorow or Friday. If the weather's I'll open on friday.

First job this morning was to have a site meeting with the architect and the builders as there we're preparing to dig the footings for the pad which will be the base and foundation of the new structure. Everything went well and after going over the plans it was clear that we could go ahead and start digging the ground out, I dispached myself to the local timber and building supplies to source some metposts and lenghts of timber which I was going to use for the construction of some removable flag poles. I'm not a tradesman and the man in the shop sussed this as the quote I recieved was so obviously inflated that I thought maybe I should ring the firm instead as appose to going in person. Maybe on the phone the salesman may think i'm a builder, I could use e-bay though.
It was hailing golf balls mid morning and we retreared to a cafe for a break in the weather and mulled over what was planned for the afternooon.
Today we put the drainage and water pipes in. I went to the plumb center where I was greeted by another trade salesman but this time it was different I knew Billy behind the counter and before he knew what I wanted he'd offered me discount. Thanks Billy for a trully great shopping experience. I walked out with 50 meters od 15" blue pipe and 50 meters of 22" blue pipe for half price. Nice one. Time for a celebration I thought so we had a shandy at dinner and talked some. The guys laid the pipe and backfilled in the rain while I thought come on its 4.pm I'm going but only after the skip lorry moves so I could get my car out.

Couldn't sleep last night its a big day today for me. I just kept waking up, thinking and thinking about what needed to be done today and would all the tradesman turn up. anyway I got to the Boating Lake at 6.30am and started painting.

I have three people turning up today. John and John the builders and Steve the electrician. I'd been painting about 2 hours and it was about 9am when one of the Johns turned up. I've known John for about 3 years I first met him in Egypt on a dive boat called Theresa in Sharm el Sheilk. I fell in to the engine room a bit drunk around 3am in the morning and he jumped down to get me out as I'd broke my arm and had severe lasarations to various parts of my body. The drop was about 3 meters Thanks John for checking all over me for any other ailments and helping me get to the Coastguard, Ambulance service, Sharm medical center and back home.
Steve turned up and gave us the power we needed not before his son sat on my paint work which resulted in him needing a new pair of jeans.
Bacon butties all round then John and John got marking the area out to be concreted which will be the base of our new building a few jokes later and it was all back to work I carried on painting. I quite like painting although I wouldn't want it as a job but it gives you time to think. I was thinking I need a pint.

Ok lets get started.

This demolish and build will be in three stages

The demoloish of our old building,

The new build

After been let down this morning when my two good friends that I drink with locally let me down. I had to resort to my staff from last year to give me a hand, as luck would have it as I was standing wondering how I could get this building down without subjecting to a sledge hammer as I want to rebuild it one day. Three lads that I had previously employed we're walking by and offerd to give me a hand. I was worried to say the least as there average age is 15. But no worries we had it down in about an hour and a half and apart from the wind and a few coachbolts that proved a bit of a pain we parted them a little bit richer and me a lot more respectful of the youth of today. Very much looking forward to tomorrow.

The Boating Lake in Cromer is looking forward to it's next project. Keep coming back each day to find out how this 2 week project goes from start to finish in under 2 weeks. So whats it all about? What are we doing?

In the next two weeks I will be knocking down our existing storage room and building a new Office, Shop and stores our custormers. We hope to be open for easter 06 which is on the 14th April. Today is the 3rd April. I'd better get to work
